  • Loss of a role model, hero, and daddy

2.5 years ago I lost my 38yr old dad to a 2month battle with stage 4 cancer. I still don't understand why God would choose my dad to take home as he wasn't a liar, cheater, stealer of any kind, but had a strong faith in Christ, and was successful in everything he did. Of course, my Father knows more than I do, and somehow, it's part of the plan. Most of the time I feel like everyone else expects me to move on since it's been such a long time, but it will never be better, and I wish people understood that. I get angry at God sometimes, as most people experiencing loss do, but I know that I must trust in Him each morning in order to have eternal life and see my dad again.

Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I have stuck to this verse through the loss of my dad.

Please leave comments of your hard times in life, the Scripture that kept you going, and how it changed your life because I would love to know that I'm not the only one, and be praying for you as you pray for me and my family.

    Thanks, Maddy
